Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Bandar Tun Razak since 2022. A trained ophthalmologist, she entered politics in 1998 following the imprisonment of her husband, Anwar Ibrahim, and went on to found the People's Justice Party (PKR). She made history as Malaysia's first female Deputy Prime Minister, serving from 2018 to 2020, and has been a prominent advocate for human rights, governance reform, and women's empowerment throughout her career.
