Winnie Brinks is an American politician serving as a member of the Michigan Senate since 2019 and as the Senate Majority Leader since 2023, becoming the first woman to hold that office. Previously, she served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2013 to 2018. Before entering politics, she worked as an executive at a non-profit organization and as a caseworker. Brinks is known for her advocacy on labor rights, including the repeal of right-to-work laws, and for her support of LGBTQ+ civil rights protections.
