Previously, she served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2013 to 2018. Before entering politics, she worked as an executive at a non-profit organization and as a caseworker. Brinks is known for her advocacy on labor rights, including the repeal of right-to-work laws, and for her support of LGBTQ+ civil rights protections.
