Xavier Bettel

Xavier Bettel is a Luxembourgish politician who has served as the Deputy Prime Minister of Luxembourg and Minister for Foreign Affairs since 2023. Previously, he served as the Prime Minister of Luxembourg from 2013 to 2023, becoming the first openly gay head of government to be reappointed for a second term. A lawyer by training, Bettel began his political career in municipal government, serving as the Mayor of Luxembourg City from 2011 to 2013. He is a member of the Democratic Party and is widely recognized for his long-standing influence in national politics.
