黒岩祐治

Yuji Kuroiwa is the Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture, first elected in 2011 and currently serving his fourth term. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished career as a journalist and news anchor at Fuji Television, where he worked for nearly three decades and gained recognition for his reporting on medical and social issues. He later served as a professor at the International University of Health and Welfare Graduate School. As governor, Kuroiwa has focused heavily on the 'Mibyo' (pre-symptomatic) health concept, aiming to improve public health and extend healthy life expectancy. His administration has also prioritized disaster prevention, corporate attraction, and the promotion of advanced medical technologies. He is known for his 'straightforward' (guchoku) motto and has remained active in regional governance despite various political challenges.
