Yudelka Tapia

Yudelka Tapia is an American politician currently serving as a member of the New York State Assembly, representing the 86th district since 2021. Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, she immigrated to the United States at age 19 and settled in the West Bronx. Before her election to the Assembly, she worked as an auditor for the City of New York for 23 years and served as a local Democratic district leader. Tapia holds a master's degree in urban policy and leadership from Hunter College and has been active in social advocacy, including her early leadership in the Unión Democrática de Mujeres.
