Yusuf Ziya Yılmaz

Yusuf Ziya Yılmaz is a Turkish politician and engineer currently serving as a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Born in 1951 in the Çarşamba district of Samsun, he began his professional career as a highway engineer in 1975 and held various regional directorate positions within the General Directorate of Highways. He served as the Mayor of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality from 1999 to 2018, a period marked by significant urban development and infrastructure projects, including the implementation of the Samsun Tram. In 2018, he resigned from his mayoral post to successfully run for parliament as a candidate for the Justice and Development Party (AK Party).
