Previously, she served as the mayor of Jeseník from 2018 to 2025 and as a representative of the Olomouc Region. A former educator and school director, Blišťanová has focused her political career on local development, social policy, and education reform. She is a member of the TOP 09 party and has been active in municipal politics since 2013, notably founding the local movement 'Jeseník srdcem'.
