Abdul Gafar bin Yahya

Abdul Gafar bin Yahya is a Malaysian civil servant currently serving as the eighth Mayor of Alor Setar, a position he assumed on February 2, 2025. Prior to his appointment as mayor, he served as the District Officer of Kuala Muda. Throughout his career in the public sector, he has been recognized with several state and national honors, including the Darjah Dato' Setia Diraja Kedah. As mayor, he has stated his commitment to focusing on adaptation, innovation, and collaboration to drive the development of the Kedah state capital.
