Abhijit Gangopadhyay is an Indian politician and former judge of the Calcutta High Court who currently serves as a Member of the Lok Sabha for the Tamluk constituency. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished legal career, serving as a West Bengal Civil Service officer and later as a judge, where he gained national attention for ordering CBI inquiries into alleged recruitment scams within the West Bengal education system. He resigned from the judiciary in March 2024 to join the Bharatiya Janata Party and was subsequently elected to the 18th Lok Sabha in the 2024 general election.
