Aboubakar Soumahoro is an Italian politician and trade unionist of Ivorian origin, currently serving as a member of the Chamber of Deputies. Born in Lakota, Ivory Coast, he moved to Italy in 1999 and later earned a degree in sociology from the University of Naples Federico II. Before his election in 2022, he was a prominent activist for migrant rights and agricultural workers, notably founding the Lega Braccianti and advocating against the exploitation of laborers in the agricultural sector. Initially elected as part of the Green and Left Alliance, he currently sits in the Mixed Group following his voluntary suspension and subsequent departure from the alliance amid legal investigations involving his family members' business activities.
