Abu Azmi

Abu Asim Azmi is an Indian politician serving as a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, representing the Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar constituency. A prominent figure in the Samajwadi Party, he currently leads the party's Maharashtra state branch. Azmi previously served as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from 2002 to 2008. Throughout his career, he has been a controversial figure known for his outspoken and often criticized remarks regarding women's rights and social issues. In March 2025, he faced a temporary suspension from the state assembly following comments he made regarding Aurangzeb.
