Abuzar Erdogan is a German politician and lawyer who has served as the Lord Mayor of Rosenheim since May 2026. Born in 1993 to an Alevite-Kurdish family, he studied law at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich before working as a lawyer and corporate counsel. A member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) since 2009, he previously served on the Rosenheim city council and chaired the local SPD faction. In 2026, he made history by becoming the first Social Democrat to be elected Lord Mayor of Rosenheim since 1961.
