Katharina Schenk is a German politician currently serving as the Minister of Social Affairs, Health, Labor and Family of Thuringia since December 2024. Previously, she held the position of State Secretary for Municipal Affairs in the Thuringian Ministry of the Interior and Municipal Affairs from 2020 to 2024 and served briefly as a member of the Landtag of Thuringia. Before her ministerial career, she worked in city management and as a personal assistant to the mayor of Altenburg. Schenk is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany and has been active in local politics in Leipzig and the Altenburger Land region.
