Gerold Otten

Gerold Otten is a German politician and former Air Force officer serving as a member of the Bundestag since 2017. Born in 1955, he spent over two decades in the Bundeswehr, where he trained as a weapon systems officer for F-4 Phantom and Panavia Tornado aircraft, eventually reaching the rank of major before transitioning to the aerospace industry. In his civilian career, he worked for DASA and later served as a Eurofighter Sales Director at Airbus Defense and Space. As a member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, he has been repeatedly nominated by his faction for the position of Vice President of the Bundestag, though he has not been elected to the role.
