Alice Weidel

Alice Weidel is a German politician serving as the co-chairwoman of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party and as the leader of the AfD parliamentary group in the Bundestag. Born in 1979, she holds a doctorate in international development and previously worked in finance for firms including Goldman Sachs and Allianz Global Investors. Since entering the Bundestag in 2017, she has become a prominent figure in German politics, advocating for economic liberalism, stricter immigration controls, and a critical stance toward the European Union's current bureaucratic structure. She is the party's designated candidate for Chancellor for the 2025 federal election.
