Carsten Träger was a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) who served as a member of the Bundestag representing Bavaria from 2013 until his death in 2026. Throughout his parliamentary career, he focused on environmental policy, serving as the SPD parliamentary group's spokesperson on the environment and later as Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Climate Protection and Nuclear Safety starting in 2025. Träger was also active in local politics in Fürth and held various board positions in environmental and consumer protection foundations. He passed away in March 2026 at the age of 52.
