Adil Shamji

Adil Shamji is a Canadian physician and politician who has served as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Don Valley East since 2022. Before entering politics, he worked as an emergency physician and provided medical care to Indigenous populations in Northern Ontario and the Arctic, as well as serving as a medical director for shelter programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a member of the Ontario Liberal Party, he has focused his legislative work on healthcare reform, including advocating for nursing agency regulations and improved emergency room performance. He briefly campaigned for the party's leadership in 2023 before endorsing Bonnie Crombie.
