Lisa Thompson is a Canadian politician serving as the Minister of Rural Affairs in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. First elected in 2011 to represent the riding of Huron—Bruce, she has held several cabinet positions, including Minister of Education, Minister of Government and Consumer Services, and Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. Before entering provincial politics, she worked as a general manager for The Ontario Dairy Goat Cooperative and as a Rural Community Advisor. She is a graduate of the University of Guelph and continues to represent her constituents as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party.
