Adolf Kessel is a German politician and the current Lord Mayor of the city of Worms. Before entering local government, he served as a police officer and later worked for the Rhineland-Palatinate State Office of Criminal Investigation. A member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), he served as a member of the Landtag of Rhineland-Palatinate from 2009 to 2019. In 2019, he assumed the office of Lord Mayor of Worms after winning the municipal election. He has announced his intention to retire from his mayoral duties at the end of 2026.
