Ulrich Burchardt is a German politician who has served as the Lord Mayor of Konstanz since September 2012. Born in 1971, he initially trained as a farmer and later worked as a forestry engineer and management consultant for Manufactum before entering politics. A member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), he was first elected as an independent candidate supported by local parties and successfully defended his office in the 2020 election. During his tenure, Konstanz became the first German city to declare a climate emergency in 2019. He is also an author, having published works on business principles and urban environmental policy.
