Iris Spranger is a German politician who has served as the Senator for Interior and Sport of Berlin since December 2021. A member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), she has been a long-standing member of the Berlin House of Representatives, having served from 1999 to 2006 and again since 2011. Before her current appointment, she held the position of State Secretary in the Berlin Senate Department for Finance from 2006 to 2011. Throughout her career, she has been active in local politics in Marzahn-Hellersdorf and has held various leadership roles within the Berlin SPD and the Workers' Welfare Association (AWO).
