Agnes Mantaine Pareyio is a Kenyan politician and prominent women's rights activist who serves as a Member of the National Assembly for the Narok North constituency. Born in 1956, she gained international recognition for her long-standing campaign against female genital mutilation (FGM) and her work as the founder and director of the Tasaru Ntomonok Rescue Center for Girls. A former Deputy Mayor, she was named the United Nations in Kenya Person of the Year in 2005 for her contributions to gender equality. In 2022, she made history by becoming the first woman elected to represent her constituency in the Kenyan Parliament, where she continues to advocate for the protection of girls and the empowerment of women.
