Akira Fukuda is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Koshigaya in Saitama Prefecture. Born in Koshigaya in 1975, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at Hosei University. Before entering politics, he was a professional football player for Mito HollyHock and later worked for ten years at ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation, where he served as a division manager. Fukuda began his political career as a member of the Koshigaya City Council, serving three terms. He was first elected Mayor of Koshigaya in 2021 and was re-elected to a second term in October 2025. His administration focuses on community development and public welfare.
