Toshiaki Yamada is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kaga City in Ishikawa Prefecture. Born in Tomizuka-cho, Kaga, he spent much of his career in the field of education, graduating from the Faculty of Education at the University of Fukui before working as an elementary school teacher. He later held various administrative and leadership roles within the Ishikawa Prefectural Board of Education and served as a school principal. In 2019, he became the Superintendent of Education for Kaga City. Yamada entered politics in 2025, successfully running for mayor and defeating the incumbent candidate to assume office in October of that year.
