Kazunari Koizumi is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Narita City in Chiba Prefecture. Born in Narita in 1956, he graduated from the Nihon University Faculty of Law and initially worked in the management of his family's inn. He began his political career as a member of the Narita City Council, serving two terms starting in 1995. After an unsuccessful bid for mayor in 2003, he was first elected as Mayor of Narita in 2007 and has since been re-elected multiple times, including consecutive terms won by acclamation. He is also known for his interest in traditional Japanese comedy and his involvement with the Narita Airport Area Coexistence Foundation.
