Keishi Abe is a Japanese politician and physician currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Sendai, he graduated from Hokkaido University's School of Medicine and previously worked as a bureaucrat at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, as well as an official at the World Health Organization, where he focused on infectious disease crisis management. Inspired by his experiences during the Great East Japan Earthquake and his interest in international security, he entered politics to build a more resilient society. He was first elected to the Diet in 2024 and subsequently won his seat in the 2026 general election.
