Alabas Farhat is an American politician serving as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives since 2023, representing the 3rd district. Raised in Dearborn, Michigan, he holds a Bachelor of Science in public health from the University of Michigan–Dearborn and a Master of Public Administration from the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. Prior to his election, he worked as a field director for state and local officials and as an organizer for the Michigan Democratic Party. In the legislature, he has focused on prescription drug oversight, public safety funding, and religious liberty protections. In 2025, he drew attention for breaking party lines on specific social issues and for his temporary removal from a committee leadership role.
