Alasdair Allan is a Scottish politician who served as the Member of the Scottish Parliament for Na h-Eileanan an Iar from 2007 to 2026. A member of the Scottish National Party, he held several ministerial roles within the Scottish Government, including Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland's Languages and Minister for International Development and Europe. He also served as Acting Minister for Climate Action between 2024 and 2025. Allan is a scholar of the Scots language and has authored works on Scottish geography and politics.
