Alexander Melinz

Alexander Melinz is an Austrian politician and the state chairman of the Communist Party of Austria (KPÖ) in Styria. He has served as a member of the Landtag of Styria since December 2024 and assumed the role of state party leader in July 2025. Educated in German studies and history at the University of Graz, Melinz previously held leadership roles in student politics and served as a member of the district council in the Graz district of Lend. His political career is rooted in left-wing activism, including his candidacy for the Trade Union Left Block.
