Algirdas Butkevičius is a Lithuanian politician currently serving as a Member of the Seimas. He previously served as the Prime Minister of Lithuania from 2012 to 2016 and held ministerial positions as Minister of Finance and Minister of Transport and Communications. A long-time member of the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania, which he led from 2009 to 2017, he joined the Union of Democrats "For Lithuania" in 2022. He holds a doctorate in economics and has had an extensive career in both municipal and national government.
