He previously served as the 18th Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from March 2024 to October 2025, as Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan from 2018 to 2022, and as a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2018 to 2023. A senior figure in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, his political career has focused on regional development, healthcare expansion through the Sehat Insaf Card, and anti-unemployment welfare initiatives.
