Ali Ehsassi is a Canadian politician of Iranian descent who has served as the Liberal Member of Parliament for Willowdale since 2015. Born in Geneva, Switzerland, he moved to Canada at age 15 and pursued an extensive legal education, including degrees from the University of Toronto, the London School of Economics, Osgoode Hall Law School, and Georgetown University. Throughout his parliamentary career, he has focused on international relations, human rights, and trade, notably advocating for inquiries into foreign interference. He briefly served as the Minister of Government Transformation, Public Services and Procurement in 2025 and currently holds the position of Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the King’s Privy Council for Canada.
