Alister Jack is a British politician and businessman who currently serves as a member of the House of Lords. A member of the Conservative Party, he previously served as the Member of Parliament for Dumfries and Galloway from 2017 to 2024 and held the position of Secretary of State for Scotland from 2019 to 2024. Before his parliamentary career, Jack was a successful entrepreneur in the tent-hire and self-storage industries. He was created a life peer in 2025 and was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2024 for his political and public service.
