Alonzo Knox is an American politician and businessman currently serving as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives for the 93rd district. Born in Baton Rouge, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1989 to 2006, reaching the rank of sergeant. Following his military service, he worked as a readjustment analyst for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and founded the Backatown Coffee Parlour in New Orleans. Knox was elected to the state legislature in a 2023 special election after an unsuccessful bid for the New Orleans City Council in 2021.
