Altaf Hossain Chowdhury

Altaf Hossain Chowdhury is a Bangladeshi politician and retired military officer serving as a Member of the Jatiya Sangsad for the Patuakhali-1 constituency. A senior leader and Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, he previously had a distinguished military career as Chief of Air Staff of the Bangladesh Air Force from 1991 to 1995. He also held significant ministerial positions, serving as Minister of Home Affairs from 2001 to 2004 and Minister of Commerce from 2004 to 2006 during the BNP-led administration.
