Amritpal Singh

Amritpal Singh is an Indian politician and Sikh activist who has served as a Member of the Lok Sabha for the Khadoor Sahib constituency since 2024. After spending a decade in Dubai working in the transport industry, he returned to India in 2022 to lead the organization Waris Punjab De. He is known for his advocacy of a sovereign Sikh state known as Khalistan and for leading campaigns focused on traditionalist Sikhism and drug rehabilitation. His political career has been marked by significant controversy, including his detention under the National Security Act from 2023 to 2026 and allegations regarding his involvement in separatist activities and the formation of a private militia.
