Anamarie Avila Farias

Anamarie Avila Farias is an American politician serving as a member of the California State Assembly for the 15th district since 2024. A granddaughter of immigrants, she previously served on the Martinez City Council, the Contra Costa County Board of Education, and the California Housing Finance Agency board. Throughout her career, she has focused on housing, education, and civil rights, notably advocating for minority representation in local governance. In the Assembly, she has authored legislation addressing housing affordability and has proposed measures to restrict the employment of former ICE agents in public schools and law enforcement.
