Anas Sarwar

Anas Sarwar is a Scottish politician who has served as the Leader of the Scottish Labour Party since 2021. Born in Glasgow, he is a former dentist who entered politics following his father, Mohammad Sarwar. He previously served as the Member of Parliament for Glasgow Central from 2010 to 2015 and has been a regional Member of the Scottish Parliament for Glasgow since 2016. Positioned on the moderate left of the Labour Party, Sarwar has focused his career on issues such as international development, health policy, and constitutional reform, while advocating for increased devolution within the United Kingdom.
