András Pikó

András Pikó is a Hungarian politician and activist who has served as the Mayor of Budapest's VIII. District (Józsefváros) since 2019. Before entering politics, he worked as a journalist and reporter for Magyar Rádió and Magyar Televízió. He studied history at the University of Szeged. Pikó was first elected in 2019 with the support of a coalition of opposition parties and civil movements, and he was re-elected in 2024. His administration has focused on local governance and civic engagement in the district.
