Andrea Turčanová is a Slovak politician currently serving as a Member of the National Council of Slovakia, a position she has held since 2023. Born in Martin in 1966, she studied chemical engineering at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava before pursuing a career in social work and municipal administration. She served as a deputy in the Prešov regional assembly from 2009 to 2013 and made history as the first female mayor of Prešov, serving two terms from 2014 to 2022. A member of the Christian Democratic Movement since 2006, she continues to be active in national politics.
