František Mikloško is a Slovak politician and a long-serving member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. A prominent figure in the Velvet Revolution, he served as the first Speaker of the Slovak National Council from 1990 to 1992. Throughout his career, he has been a key member of the Christian Democratic Movement and was a candidate in the 2004 and 2009 presidential elections. After a period of retirement from politics, he returned to the National Council in 2023.
