Andrei Ivanets is a Belarusian politician and scientist who has served as the Minister of Education of Belarus since 2022. Born in Minsk in 1984, he pursued a career in chemistry, graduating from the Belarusian State University and later working at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, where he eventually became the chief scientific secretary. Prior to his ministerial appointment, he served as a member of the Council of the Republic from 2019 to 2022. Beyond his political and scientific career, Ivanets is an accomplished powerlifter who has set world records in the deadlift.
