Andrew Hevesi

Andrew Hevesi is an American politician serving as a member of the New York State Assembly, representing the 28th Assembly District since 2005. A member of the Democratic Party, he has held various leadership roles, including chair of the Assembly Committee on Children and Families. Throughout his tenure, Hevesi has focused on child welfare policy, foster care, and juvenile justice reform, notably sponsoring legislation such as Kyra's Law. Before his election to the Assembly, he worked in the Queens District Attorney's office and served as a chief of staff for the New York State Senate.
