Kate Lieber is an American politician serving as a member of the Oregon State Senate, representing the 14th district. Before entering the legislature, she worked as an attorney for the Multnomah County District Attorney's office, where she focused on prosecuting domestic violence and child abuse cases. She also served on the Psychiatric Security Review Board for eight years. In the Senate, Lieber previously held the position of Majority Leader and has been a key figure in legislative efforts regarding criminal justice reform, including co-authoring legislation to reinstate criminal penalties for drug possession. She is the first openly lesbian member of the Oregon State Senate.
