Andrew Lanza is an American politician and lawyer serving as a member of the New York State Senate, representing the 24th district which encompasses most of Staten Island. First elected to the Senate in 2006, he previously served on the New York City Council. Throughout his legislative career, Lanza has focused on issues such as judicial independence, combating the opioid crisis through the I-STOP Act, and ending child marriage in New York. Before entering politics, he worked as an Assistant District Attorney and in the private sector as a software and finance executive.
