Sir Andrew Mitchell

Sir Andrew Mitchell is a veteran British politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Sutton Coldfield since 2001, having previously represented Gedling from 1987 to 1997. A member of the Conservative Party, he has held several high-profile government roles, including Secretary of State for International Development from 2010 to 2012 and Deputy Foreign Secretary in 2024. Throughout his career, Mitchell has been a prominent advocate for international development, transparency in aid, and social action projects, most notably founding Project Umubano in Rwanda. Following the 2024 general election, he has served in the Shadow Cabinet as Shadow Foreign Secretary.
