Andris Bērziņš is a Latvian politician and businessman who currently serves as a Member of the Saeima. He previously held the office of President of Latvia from 2011 to 2015. Before his presidency, he had a distinguished career in banking and industry, notably serving as the president of Latvijas Unibanka from 1993 to 2004. A former member of the Supreme Council of the Latvian SSR, he was a signatory of the 1990 declaration restoring Latvia's independence. Throughout his political career, he has been associated with the Union of Greens and Farmers and has held various leadership roles in national economic and industrial organizations.
