Andris Sprūds
Profile
Andris Sprūds is a Latvian foreign policy researcher, lecturer, and politician serving as a member of the 14th Saeima. He has worked as a professor at Rīga Stradiņš University and previously served as the Minister of Defence of Latvia from September 2023 until May 2026. A specialist in energy security, post-Soviet politics, and transatlantic relations, he joined the Progressives party in 2023 and has chaired the European Affairs Committee of the Saeima.
