Anna Brychan

Anna Heledd Brychan is a Welsh politician, academic, and trade unionist who serves as a Member of the Senedd for Caerdydd Penarth. Since May 2026, she has also held the position of Cabinet Minister for Education and the Welsh Language. Before entering the Senedd, Brychan had a distinguished career in education advocacy, serving as the director of the Welsh branch of the National Association of Head Teachers from 2004 to 2014, and later as an Assistant Dean at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. A long-time member of Plaid Cymru, she previously held various leadership roles within the party, including Chief Executive and spokesperson.
