Anna Rancāne

Anna Rancāne is a Latvian politician and poet who serves as a member of the 14th Saeima. Elected in 2022 as an independent candidate on the New Unity list, she represents the Latgale constituency. Before entering national politics, she had a distinguished career as an economist, journalist, and literary figure, serving as a regional correspondent for the newspaper Diena and as the head of the literary department at the Daugavpils Theatre. She is also an accomplished author of several poetry collections and plays, often writing in both standard Latvian and the Latgalian language.
